Espionage
Espionage is a type of march where you don't attack Lords but instead find out information about them. You can only send scouts on this kind of march.
Espionage features:
- Scouts cannot participate in attacks, Raids, or resource yielding, but they can be a part of reinforcements together with other troops. They can only fight other scouts, and these battles also provide points in Tournaments.
- Espionage will be successful if your scouts defeat the enemy scouts. When your enemy doesn't have scouts, a march is always successful. Your opponents receive a report only if there was a battle between your and their scouts.
- Information about scout marches is duplicated in the "Battles of Order members" section of the Order window.
- A scout troop moves much faster than a regular military march. A Lord targeted for espionage cannot see the approaching scout troop on the Kingdom map. The Outpost also doesn't give warnings about espionage.
- If scouts who are defending the Town win, then the Lord conducting the espionage doesn't receive any information.
If your espionage attempt succeeds, you will receive a report in your mail containing information about the following:
- The enemy Lord
- Troops in the Lord's Town (the type and number of warriors, as well as any active bonuses)
- The Lord's resources
- The Lord's Hero and Inquisitor, if they were in the Town during the espionage (the Hero's and Inquisitor's levels, as well as any active bonuses)
The report shows the amount of resources a Lord can plunder if the attack succeeds. This amount doesn't take into account resources stored in the Treasury.
You can improve your scouts' stats in the Alchemical Laboratory, as well as by using Studies, Skills, equipment, Boosts, VIP status bonuses, bonuses from Order Holdings, Townscapes, jewels, runes, the Inquisitor Many-Faced Vigo, the Manipulator Reputation from the Eternal Stronghold, and some Cardinals and achievements.
